Athletic Trainer, Mel Waytashek did a Safety presentation on office ergonomics at Oxbo. We went through typical injuries and problems that occur and then we went to many of the desks and talked them through their set up! Oxbo has quite the impressive set up with many of the desks! Thank you for having us and asking questions about your own set up, we enjoyed it very much!

Taping Techniques with Coaches

Athletic Trainer, Mel Waytashek hosted Taping Techniques with the coaches at the Clear Lake Clinic! We had 8 coaches in attendance and we went over many different taping processes and a couple wraps for injuries that athletes typically get!

October was Physical Therapy Month

Clear Lake, Turtle Lake & Rice Lake all participated in the Soles 4 Souls drive! Soles 4 Souls is a not for profit global social enterprise committed to fighting poverty through the collection and distribution of shoes and clothing! The community members dropped off their lightly used shoes to our donation drop boxes! The Rice Lake High School FBLA members tied the shoes together and dropped them off at F/G Products who then shipped them off to the United States donation drop off! They are then shipped to people in the US who are in need to shoes!

Colors & Canvas

In September, we hosted and “Colors and Canvas by Joni and Marie” night at the Spooner Clinic. We had food, painting and most of all FUN!! We were taught how to blend colors to create a sunset with a sailboat on the ocean. Our teacher, Joni Campbell, brought us back to basics and taught us how to create the image on our own with the use of blending simple colors and using different brushes. The clinic was a great place to host this with our space and lighting. We look forward to hosting this enjoyable event again soon!

Rice Lake Open House

Rice Lake Physical Therapy & Rehab Specialists hosted a Tailgating Open House on October 20th! We had over 100 people in attendance. The Howler Building consists of Chippewa Valley Orthopedics, Edward Jones, Toboggan Dental & Rice Lake PT. We served brats, hotdogs, chips, beans, desserts and drinks! It was nice to talk to past patients and get to know some people from the other businesses.

Food Drive

The 3rd Annual Food Drive and coloring contest kicked off November at Spooner Physical Therapy and Rehab! Last year we had over 300 amazing turkeys that covered our windows and make it hard to decide who did the best coloring job! We had entries from Spooner Elementary, Shell Lake Elementary and St. Francis. There were several ways to win: Our patients along with staff voted for the best picture from each grade for their artistic ability and with every food donation an adults name went into the drawing for a chance to win all the fixings for “Thanksgiving” dinner. Last year we collected over 600 lbs of food for the local pantry. We love helping the local community! The pictures below are from last year’s drive! Keep your eyes open for next times newsletter for this year’s pictures and winners!
